Blizzard Revisits Skyborne Druid Looks, Adds SD Forms to the Plan
Blizzard says it is refining HD Skyborne Druid visuals to better fit WoW: Forever’s art direction and is developing SD Skyborne player characters and Druid forms for early 2027.
WoW Forever NewsTuning the HD look
Blizzard says it is revisiting some Skyborne visuals after finding that certain ideas did not meet its goals for consistency and cohesion. For the HD Druid forms, the team describes reducing softness, adding more detailed fur texture and adjusting saturation. The aim is to retain the forms’ exotic character without making them feel out of place beside other creatures.[1]
An SD option is also in development
The announcement says the original SD-or-HD character toggle focused on races from original WoW, whose established models many players feel attached to. Blizzard also acknowledges feedback that HD Skyborne looked jarring beside SD characters and environments, and says it agrees. Its response is to develop SD Skyborne player characters and SD Druid forms, with more details promised closer to their planned early 2027 arrival.[1]
