Dungeon XP and parties

Creatures killed in dungeons now grant approximately 20% more experience. Party XP for killing lower-level enemies is calculated for each character individually, instead of being penalized according to the highest-level member.[1]

The developers expect the two changes together to increase dungeon XP for most players. If a party member is vastly higher level than the enemies, the group still receives no XP, as intended.[1]

Class tuning

  • Rage: Fixes address calculations involving player health, damage multipliers, and absorbs. The notes say typical Warriors and Druids should gain more Rage from damage taken, with gains rebalanced around armor values that vary by level.[1]
  • Druid: Bear and Dire Bear threat bonuses increase, while Thorns returns to Vanilla WoW base damage with a reduced spell-power ratio. Mana Potions work in forms again.[1]
  • Paladin: Retribution Aura returns to Vanilla WoW base damage with a reduced spell-power ratio. Protection’s Reckoning now has a 1.5-second trigger cooldown, and mana restoration through the named talents no longer generates threat.[1]
  • Hunter: Expose Prey lasts longer, and fixes correct pet damage, talent chances, and Entrapment behavior. Priest Penance receives damage, healing, and mana-cost adjustments, including a 50% increase to Rank 1’s mana cost.[1]

Items and vendor prices

Peace Tea now sells to vendors for 10c. Vendor prices are also set for Minor Wizard Oils and a range of Enchanting-produced wands, from 5c for Novice’s Practice Wand to 25s for Greater Eternal Wand.[1]

These are listed vendor sale prices, not crafting-cost or profit figures. Check current material costs and sale prices before making bulk-crafting decisions; the notes do not establish the profitability of any item or strategy.[1]

Other item changes include revised stats for dungeon quest rewards whose rarity drops from Rare to Uncommon, tuning for rewards from new Desolace quests, and a Wolfshead Helm effect change. Armor Kits granting Attack Power no longer incorrectly grant twice as much ranged Attack Power.[1]

Beta systems

  • City of Dalaran is available for testing. Players can again swap multiple weapons within one global cooldown, and the Cooldown Manager supports all classes, racial abilities, and trinkets; consumables are planned for a later patch.[1]
  • Beta players receive Legacy Challenge completion and 16 Legacy Points for testing. During beta, the lowest-cost talent-point respec costs 1s, and its cost reduces by one respec per hour.[1]
  • Discord Voice can be selected for party chat, and Group Finder postings can specify an in-game voice mode. Gamepad action-bar settings move into Edit Mode, with layouts saved separately by UI type.[1]

TL;DR

  • Dungeon creature XP is approximately 20% higher, and party XP penalties now depend on each character’s level rather than the highest-level group member.[1]
  • The update fixes Rage calculations and tunes several class abilities, including Druid threat and Paladin tanking mechanics.[1]
  • Vendor prices are set for Peace Tea and several Enchanting-produced items; the notes do not give previous prices or crafting costs.[1]
